- 1 cedar plank (12 x 12 inches)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 4 salmon filets, with skin on, 6 oz each
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Soak the cedar plank in water for between 2 and 12 hours, so it will not ignite in the oven.
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- Arrange the salmon on the plank, skin side down.
- In a small bowl, stir together the sesame oil, dill weed, brown sugar, and sesame seeds.
- Stir in just enough water to make it liquid.
- Season with pepper and soy sauce if desired (or omit these ingredients if you prefer.)
- Spoon the resulting mixture over the fish so it is completely covered.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the salmon can be flaked with a fork.
